Bright Now commenced in January 2022, following on from the strong foundation that was built over 25 years as Premier Youthworks.
Premier Youthworks was founded by Lisa Glen, who was a passionate advocate for children and young people. Lisa worked with the Newcastle Local Government authorities, to establish residential care homes with a team of experienced case workers and carers to support children and young people. With the success and demands of the service, the organisation continued to grow.
With the same high level of support and commitment to children and young people, Bright Now was founded in January 2022 as a not-for-profit organisation. Today, Bright Now cares for between 40 and 70 young people and employs over 200 highly experienced and talented professionals throughout the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle region.
The Bright Now team have a deep understanding of the complex needs, arising from childhood abuse and neglect and we are equipped to deliver trauma informed services. It’s our care, compassion and dedication that is contributing to positive outcomes for the young people that we support in high quality Therapeutic Residential Care environments.
